Community Food Programs

Community Food Programs is an overarching program that provides food support to friends in our community. We strive to be an inclusive and welcoming outreach that cares for others by offering healthy and nutritious food, sharing resources and displaying care and kindness for all.

Community HUB and Lunch

Every Friday friends attend our weekly daytime Hub & Lunch. Our Hub which is open from 10 am-3pm offers snacks, hot and cold drinks and a safe and caring space where people can connect together, read, knit, play games or just relax. A delicious and nutritious lunch including hot food, soup and salad bar, dessert and fresh fruit as well as drinks is served between 12pm and 2pm in the dining room. Volunteers serve the buffet style lunch and leftover food is packaged and provided for people to take home following the meal. People come for various reasons including to eat a delicious and healthy meal, to feel included and cared for, to share resources and to meet new friends. We are an inclusive space where all are welcome to attend!

Emergency Delivery Program

Our Emergency Delivery Program provides over 100 weekly deliveries of much needed emergency food support of already prepared meals, breads, fresh produce, milk and sweets. Our kind and giving volunteers put great care into putting together the meal bags and boxes, and our delivery teams are the lifeline for many folks in the community who receive these weekly and biweekly meal deliveries. We receive referrals from support workers and case managers from various organizations throughout the region. We cater to those who are struggling with mental and physical health challenges who are unable to prepare their own meals.

Our clients who are residing at local motels and hotels as well as in tents due to an inability to find emergency shelter support also receive Comfort Kits and Hygiene Bags upon intake into our program. Our numbers continue to rise as the need for food support increases.
